“State Fair Community College was revolutionary for my success.”
— Miranda Miller, Class of 2024
After struggling at her previous institution, Miranda transferred to SFCC seeking a supportive community and academic success. SFCC provided the “redemption season” she needed with a close-knit environment, academic resources, and a culture of accountability. Professors and peers actively supported each other, and a variety of interest-based clubs created a sense of belonging that was lacking before.
At SFCC, Miranda received proactive support from attentive professors and built a network of motivated classmates. This community-focused environment was revolutionary to her success. SFCC provided her with a balance of accountability and encouragement by offering a setting where every student is known, supported, and challenged to meet their goals. Miranda's success exemplifies the unique advantages of community college and demonstrates how smaller colleges can create transformative learning experiences.

“The 1-on-1 time with professors... it's absolutely great.”
-Addie Berrie Class of 2024
After growing up on a farm, Addie didn’t initially see herself pursuing a future in agriculture—not until she began exploring the opportunities within the Agriculture program at SFCC. Though she initially chose SFCC because of its proximity to home, she soon discovered that the college’s hands-on learning approach and individualized support created the ideal environment for her to succeed.
As president of the Ag Club, Addie found her place both socially and academically. She also built valuable industry connections through the club’s involvement with Professional Agricultural Students (PAS). Addie says one of the most impactful parts of her SFCC experience has been the ability to walk into a professor’s office at any time for one-on-one conversations. That accessibility and support made a lasting difference in her education and her future career path.
